Building a personalized credit experience for Spruce customers

Spruce is focused on helping their customers start building credit – or rebuilding – to a better future. The benefits of a good credit score can be key to renting an apartment or qualifying for loans and credit card options. Today, the problem of “what impacts a credit score the most” and “ways of improving it” can be a hurdle for many people. Spruce needed a way to help customers make more informed credit decisions and improve their credit scores.

By identifying this opportunity, the solution was to create a credit tool that provides customer’s with personalized credit highlights, history and information to be easily accessible and improve their overall credit standing.

The credit homepage provides users with personalized factors, details and highlights impacting their credit score.

Experience Design

The app's interface design focused on an approach for digestible, friendly content with personalized section cards to be easily scannable. Even if you’re “fresh” and just getting started building your credit, users have the opportunity to review their high-level credit score impacts and history within each category. The designs are fully responsive and built for a mobile-first approach. Its vibrant illustrations with direct and helpful content encourage users to keep motivated with each new credit milestone.

For the future

Spruce has only unlock the beginning potentials for how to provide continued value for helping customers improve their credit. From January’s launch, Spruce credit has seen 84% enrollment success rate and plan to improve upon these learnings to help to drive towards future insights.
